Rotherham Clinical Commissioning Group

The Government has far reaching proposals to change the NHS. A key change will be that GPs, and other clinicians, get a greater say in where money is invested for patient care. The Government proposes that Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) and their Boards be scrapped with much of their commissioning role handled instead by newly created Clinical Commissioning Groups. We expect that Rotherham will have a single Clinical Commissioning Group from April 2013 onwards. We in Rotherham are already working towards that goal: local GPs already hold a number of advisory and decision making roles in our recently revised governance structures.
