A review of arrangements for safeguarding children in the NHS was undertaken in July 2009 by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The review showed good progress, but also made recommendations about areas where further improvement needs to be made. The Department of Health therefore asked all NHS organisations to assess their position against the findings of the Care Quality Commission review, and to publish a declaration when they are satisfied with the necessary arrangements.
