Rotherham Older People’s Experience of Services (ROPES) is holding their Annual General Meeting on Monday 11th October at the RAIN Building, Rotherham.
ROPES Chairperson Ann Clough will conduct the meeting, which will be opened by the Mayor of Rotherham, Councillor Rose McNeely and her Consort Mr Vince McNeely.
The ROPES group promotes awareness of older people in health and related care issues, and seeks to influence decision making in health and social care. The group is supported by NHS Rotherham, but also has links with a variety of other statutory and voluntary organisations, such as Rotherham Council, Voluntary Action Rotherham, LINkrotherham, Rotherham Carers Forum, and many others.
Chair of ROPES, Ann Clough, said: “The AGM is a point that we take stock of the work we’ve done over the past year, and what we have achieved. We also look to the future, and think about what will be essential to older people. The last year has been very important and we have been involved in many areas of improvement and in developing new services that impact on older people.”
NHS Rotherham Patient and Public Engagement Manager, Helen Wyatt added: “The input and involvement of ROPES in planning services and highlighting the needs, concerns and issues of older people is invaluable. We cannot provide quality health services unless we know what is important to people; ROPES is one of the ways that we can find this out.”
