Community pharmacies are now expected to take part in six public health campaigns a year under the pharmacy contract.
The purpose of these campaigns is as follows:
-
To increase patient and public knowledge and understanding of key healthy lifestyle and public health messages so they are empowered to take actions to improve health
-
To target the ‘hard to reach’ sectors of the population who are not frequently exposed to health promotion activities in other parts of the health or social care sector
The Rotherham campaigns are supported by NHS Rotherham and the Rotherham Local Pharmaceutical Committee.
All pharmacies will be provided with a resource pack for each campaign that includes key resources, display material, information for pharmacy staff and evaluation and audit materials.
The campaigns have been selected to reflect both local and national public health priorities. Each campaign runs for 4 weeks and a selection of the 6 campaigns will be audited and evaluated using an evaluation form.
Find details of past campaigns. A poster is also available giving details of all the campaigns.
